We have compiled a list of the 20 most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen’s sorcerer universe so far. It is a ranked list of the strongest characters in JJK anime:
Note: This article contains spoilers about the characters that were shown in season 1 of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. It further includes one manga reference (not a spoiler). We suggest you watch JJK anime Season 1 and the JJK 0 movie to know more about the characters and avoid ruining your experience.

1. Gojo Satoru

Even before reading this article, you would have probably known who was at the top of this list, and you’re absolutely right. Gojo Satoru is the strongest of all characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime. He himself flexes his powers in the first scene he is introduced declaring, “It’ll be fine. I’m the strongest there is, after all”. He descends from the Gojo clan and possesses the “Limitless” cursed technique as well as the powerful ‘Six Eyes,’ which are regarded as the highest powers in the Jujutsu World.
Gojo Satoru wears a cool blindfold all the time, and you can check out the reason behind Gojo’s blindfold mystery here. Satoru is currently recognized as one of the four special-grade sorcerers and the greatest character in the JJK anime. Gojo possesses a multitude of powers and techniques at his disposal. His infinite cursed technique creates an unseen barrier between him and others. Only he decides what can and cannot touch him. It is useful during fights because the opponents cannot even touch Gojo and feel helpless. We have also seen his Blue and Red cursed techniques along with Purple Hollow. Gojo has enormous cursed energy that he can utilize his domain expansion skill many times within a single day.
We have only seen around 10% of Gojo’s talents and abilities in the anime so far and have yet to see the rest. But with his varied talents and abilities, he stands tall among the sorcerers in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

2. Yuta Okkotsu

Okkotsu Yuta, who had been teased in the anime for a while, quickly gained popularity once the JJK 0 movie was released earlier last year. After discovering his untapped talent, Yuta gained notoriety and is one of the four special-grade Jujutsu sorcerers, like Gojo, in the anime. Yuta is a special-grade cursed person who was cursed by Rika Orimoto (his late childhood friend). But as was later revealed, he was the one who cursed her. Yuta belongs to a renowned Jujutsu clan and is linked to “Michizane Sugawara,” one of the most legendary Jujutsu sorcerers ever.
Yuta possesses special powers in Jujutsu Kaisen, but he becomes indestructible when he joins forces with Rika. Additionally, he is endowed with strong powers like infinite cursed energy reserves and the ability to copy cursed techniques. Even if a technique is limited to a certain clan or person in JJK, he can still replicate it.
Okkotsu also has the ability to cure others using reverse cursed technique, which is one of the toughest skills to master. Gojo believes that Yuta is one of the individuals who can one day surpass him. Yuta is, therefore, the second-strongest character in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and on this list.

3. Geto Suguru

Because of his disdain for those who don’t utilize curses, Geto Suguru decided to follow the road of evil. And without a doubt, because of the degree of threat that he poses to mankind, Geto is regarded as the most notorious curse user of all. Although we weren’t able to see him in action in the anime, we witnessed more of his abilities in the JJK 0 movie. 4. Jogo

JJK fans would recall Jogo for being utterly demolished by Gojo Satoru. We assure you that he is more powerful than that. Jogo is one of the special-grade cursed spirits we have seen in the anime so far. During a conversation between Geto and Jogo, Geto states that Jogo’s power is equivalent to that of 8 or 9 fingers of Sukuna, which is a big deal.
Jogo should, therefore, be seen as more than merely a funny foe. He has an enormous supply of cursed energies and can call out ember insects with a powerful stinger and the ability to explode like bombs. Gojo completely destroyed his domain expansion “Coffin of the Iron Mountain,” yet it is still an incredible domain expansion that shouldn’t be tampered with. Jogo is ranked fourth on the list for his immense power and can be seen as a real candidate for the strongest characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

5. Ryomen Sukuna

Ryomen Sukuna is recognized as the “King of Curses”. Even in the golden age of Jujutsu, all those who challenged him in the battle either failed or ended up dead. We are certain that Sukuna will dethrone others above him as he gains strength soon.
While Sukuna has regained power only worth four fingers, he possesses several special skills and talents. He can employ reverse cursed techniques to grow his limbs back, even repair his heart, and bring Yuji back from the dead. Throughout the anime, he also succeeded in casting special-grade curses and even a deadly domain expansion. And when Mahito (detailed below) touched his soul for the second time, Sukuna terrified and almost killed him. Thus, in his current state, Sukuna sits among the 5 best strongest characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

6. Mahito

Another special-grade cursed spirit, Mahito, possesses as much strength as Sukuna’s three fingers, from what we have seen in the anime so far. He is still a child and learning when it comes to his cursed abilities in the anime. Among all the other cursed spirits, Mahito is regarded as a clever one. He demonstrated his wit in his conflict with Yuji and Nanami. Mahito is still evolving as an antagonist, and we expect to see more of him in the future.
Mahito exhibits exceptional reflexes during his battle with Yuji. Mahito’s “Idle Transfiguration” cursed technique allows him to alter or transform a person’s soul and is surely a lethal talent. Moreover, he was able to heal himself while fighting and disfigure the bodies of his victims. The main antagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen after characters like Geto, Jogo, and Sukuna is unquestionably Mahito.

7. Hanami

Along with Jogo and Mahito, Hanami is also a special-grade cursed spirit and one of the prominent characters in JJK. Hanami can manipulate plants to the point that he can conceal himself inside and vanish from the scene, which must be his special ability. Hanami deserves a spot in the top 10 because of his extraordinary abilities.

8. Aoi Todo

Aoi Todo may not have created the best first impressions in JJK. But fans started loving his character and his chemistry with Yuji, as Todo became best friends with him. In the world of Jujutsu, Todo is currently a Grade 1 sorcerer. Todo evolved into one of the most powerful sorcerers despite coming from a non-sorcerer background. During Geto’s attack in Kyoto, he is said to have fought five Grade 1 spirits and one special grade cursed spirit all by himself.
Todo gained the upper hand in battles, thanks to his ability to combine martial arts with cursed energy methods, which also turned into a supreme power move. With his superior bodily strength, Aoi Todo is a master in hand-to-hand combat. He also has irrational speed. And let’s not forget about Boogie Woogie, a unique attack that Todo uses regularly.

9. Nanami Kento

After Gojo Satoru, Nanami Kento is currently regarded as the finest sensei in Jujutsu High. He also became Itadori Yuji’s mentor and is a Grade 1 sorcerer. Nanami is a brilliant tactician who uses his 7:3 ratio method to expose an enemy’s vulnerability, which he then exploits with a slash of his sword. As a descendant of the formidable Zenin clan, Fushiguro inherited the rarest Ten Shadows Technique. But he was given his mother’s second name, so he goes by Fushiguro rather than Zenin. Sukuna was able to fully grasp and recognize Megumi’s hidden potential throughout the whole show.
Megumi possesses a significant amount of cursed energy. He is a master of both weaponry and hand-to-hand fighting. Compared to other Jujutsu sorcerers, Megumi has superior endurance and the power to summon creatures such as the Divine Dog, Nue, Serpent, Toad, and Elephant. His Ten Shadows Technique is powerful, but Fushiguro also used “Chimera Shadow Garden” domain expansion, albeit incomplete, towards the end of the series. Megumi is a great emerging star alongside Itadori Yuji, and we can’t wait to see him grow in Season 2.

12. Toge Inumaki

The Inumaki clan’s unique “Cursed Speech” technique was passed down to Toge Inumaki, another skilled character in the JJK world. To stop cursing at his friends and other people, he started to converse using rice ball ingredients. His tongue and face were marked with the “Snake & Fang” seal at birth since he inherited the cursed speech. This seal enables him to infuse his cursed energy into whatever he says, and the person has to follow his orders. For instance, Toge saying “blast away” to Hanami caused him to be thrown out of the way. Toge is currently a semi-grade 1 sorcerer in the Jujutsu world.

13. Nobara Kugisaki

Despite joining Jujutsu High as a first-year alongside Yuji and Megumi, Nobara Kugisaki totally stole the show in the finale. Just when we thought there weren’t enough of her ferocious moments throughout the Jujutsu Kaisen series, she brought her A-game to the fight. Nobara displayed her valiant strength and powerful “hairpin” technique during her battle with the death-fighting siblings Eso and Kechizu and thoroughly dominated them. Her straw doll technique has multiple sub-techniques, which are powerful when used with her cursed tools – hammer and nails.
In her battle with the death-womb siblings, Nobara demonstrated her tactical brilliance. Despite there being poison in her blood, she was able to turn the situation around with her cleverness. She is a Grade 3 Jujutsu sorcerer right now, but as we all know, she will start moving up the rankings soon enough. She holds the 13th spot on our list of strongest characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

14. Maki Zenin

Maki was mistreated and rejected by her own family since she was born a non-sorcerer into one of the three major sorcerer families. She left the Zenin clan and started her quest to become one of the greatest sorcerers in the Jujutsu world. Currently, Maki is stuck at Grade 4 sorcerer rank as the Zenin clan controls the Sorcerer society and doesn’t want her to rank up. Despite not being able to see cursed spirits without her glasses and her difficulty controlling cursed energy, Maki has made up for that with her strong combat skills and mastery of cursed weapons. She was able to fight against Hanami and show off her skills during the Kyoto Goodwill Event. Apart from her fighting skills, Maki is also known to have trained Yuta and Megumi, which showed off her teaching skills. Maki will play an important role in the upcoming seasons, and one should not easily forget her because she’s a non-sorcerer. Thus, Maki Senpai is another strong contender for the most powerful character in the JJK anime and remains in the 14th position.

15. Panda

You may have thought Panda is actually a Panda at the beginning of the anime, but he isn’t one. Panda is a mutated cursed corpse created by Principal Masamichi Yaga of Tokyo Jujutsu High. Panda is an independent cursed corpse with its own pool of cursed energy. He does not rely on the Principal for cursed energy and can even exorcise curses with his physical abilities alone.
Panda is powered by three cores that exist within his body. These are the balanced-type Panda, the Power-type Gorilla, and the third one is Triceratops or Rhino hybrid. Panda is currently a Grade 2 sorcerer in the Jujutsu world.
Panda can transform into a more powerful and swifter version of himself by swapping his cores, thanks to his enormous supply of cursed energy. Only two Pandas variants have been shown in the anime so far, and the third one may appear in the upcoming season. Due to the nature of his body, Panda naturally has strong physical and defensive powers. He is another one of the strongest characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, indeed for his cuteness as well as his fighting prowess.

16. Choso

Choso may have slipped off our minds, as he made only a brief appearance during the Season 1 finale of Jujutsu Kaisen. But he is the elder brother of the death-womb siblings Eso and Kechizu (whom Yuji and Nobara fight in the final episode). We haven’t seen any of his powers yet, but Choso will be a powerful and important character in the JJK universe in the future. We have placed him in the 16th position on the list as we don’t know much about his powers yet, but we are sure he will climb up as Season 2 releases, and the story progresses.

17. Miguel

We were introduced to Miguel in the latest Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie. He single-handedly managed to fight Gojo in Kyoto and kept him from going to Tokyo to help Yuta fight Geto. Miguel was seen using a Black Rope, which took his family years to weave, during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. He later moved to the African region and became Yuta’s trainer, helping him better control his cursed energy. Even though he started off as an antagonist in the movie, Gojo persuaded him to join their side and made him a trainer.
Miguel has a great set of sorcerer skills as he was able to hold his own against the greatest sorcerer Gojo Satoru. Fans hope to see him back soon and to know more about his powers in the upcoming arcs. He is already worthy enough to be on this list of strongest characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

18. Mechamaru

Due to his Heavenly Restriction, Kokichi Muta was born with an extremely weak and fragile physique. It’s a kind of cursed restriction that has an impact on the cursed energy of a person in return for enhancements or restrictions to their physical appearance. His physical body may have been constrained by this restriction. But, with his vast amount of cursed energy and puppet manipulation jujutsu technique, he uses a mechanical cursed corpse known as Mechamaru. He uses Mechamaru as his delegate to attend the Jujutsu school and complete all missions.
During his fight with Panda at the Kyoto Goodwill event, the use of Ultimate Mechamaru disregarded the frailty of his physical body. Mechamaru is currently a semi-grade 1 sorcerer, controlling puppets with his cursed energy, and that makes him one of the most powerful JJK characters.

19. Noritoshi Kamo

The first time we saw Noritoshi Kamo was during the Kyoto Goodwill event, taking on Megumi in a one-on-one battle. He comes from one of the three big families in the Jujutsu world and is the successor of the Kamo Clan. He inherited the blood manipulation cursed technique from his family. It is a technique for manipulating one’s blood and using blood-infused items.
Kamo used blood manipulation in combination with his bow and arrows to control the arrows’ trajectory as well as many other things. With his cursed technique, he can quickly construct a cage or a trap using blood packets he keeps around. Therefore, this cursed technique gives its user plenty of options to attack or defend against the enemy in different ways.
Noritoshi has a great amount of cursed energy, likely equal to that of a Grade 1 cursed spirit. He can manipulate his own blood to increase his physical prowess and vitality. Undoubtedly, Noritoshi is the next big thing from the Kamo Clan and appears at the tail end of our list as we are yet to see more of his cursed techniques.

20. Principal Gakuganji

Apart from the time he used his electrifying guitar during the Goodwill event. We have not seen any other cursed techniques of Principal Gakuganji. He uses his guitar to send out cursed energy as sound waves. We do not know his sorcery grade (do we need to? He’s the principal after all), but he possesses high political power in the Jujutsu school. He is one of the important characters in the JJK anime, as he even ordered Itadori’s execution.
Gakuganji’s usage of the guitar as a cursed tool was a surprising moment in the anime. We hope to see more of his powers in the upcoming season.
